Mark St. John was an American guitarist, best known for his brief stint as the lead guitarist of the rock band Kiss. He joined Kiss in 1984 as a replacement for Vinnie Vincent, but his time with the band was short-lived due to health issues.
St. John's only album with Kiss, "Animalize," was released in 1984 and featured the hits "Heaven's on Fire" and "Thrills in the Night." However, he was unable to tour with the band due to a condition called Reiter's syndrome, which caused inflammation in his hands and made it difficult for him to play guitar.
After leaving Kiss, St. John struggled with his health and continued to work on music independently. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2007 at the age of 51. Despite his short tenure with Kiss, St. John is remembered for his contributions to the band's music and his talent as a guitarist.
